Frogs!

The temporary lobby exhibit for June comes to us from Michelle Weed, wife of Prairie Museum's maintenance man, Mike.

Michelle's collection started in 1991 when their son, Josh, and Mike gave her a frog for her first Mother's Day. Now over 3500 frogs from all over the United States and some from around the world inhabit their own room in the Weed home.

The frogs were given to Michelle by friends and family who found them during their travels. They include frogs made of plastic, concrete, rubber, glass, paper, ceramics, metal, seashells, wood, and plush. They range in size from the diameter of a dime to 3 feet tall and weigh from a few ounces to a 30 pound one made of concrete.

As always, there is no admission to view the lobby exhibit.

While you are here you will also want to see the free art exhibit in the Garvey Education Room provided by the students from Colby and Brewster public schools. The art will be on display through mid-July.
