Vases
The temporary lobby exhibit for September is a selection of ceramic and porcelain vases from the collection of Prairie Museum of Art and History.
A vase is an open container for holding a single cut flower or collection of flowers in a supply of water. They are available in a variety of sizes to support whatever flower it is holding. The design was usually kept simple so as not to distract from the contents.
The typical style is a bulbous flat bottom base with a narrow neck flared at the top. Vases are usually made from a variety of materials including ceramics, glass, and non-rusting metals.
